Baby Number Seven: halfway through our pregnancy

belly check

It’s hard to believe we’re almost 20 weeks with baby number seven. It won’t be much longer until he/she is here! Our midwife Betsy has been coming to our house for monthly check-ups and the twins and Abby love hearing the new baby’s heartbeat.

Our gender sonogram is scheduled for October 4th. We’re all very excited to find out if baby number seven is Gideon Keith or Fiona Leigh. I’m often asked which I think it could be – and I really have no idea. This little one has blessed me with the easiest pregnancy I’ve ever had. It’s only now that I’m near the half-way mark that I’m noticing a few aches and pains here and there. No nausea, no major fatigue, no swelling. I’m very thankful to be healthy and happy as I chase after the twins, the two-year-old, and taxi the teens around town.

For fun, I thought I’d ask y’all what you think we might be having.

Are we having a Boy? Or a Girl?

Of course the guys here at the house are rooting for another little boy to help balance the scales. The ladies are always ready for another little girl to keep team estrogen ranking in Casa de Coers. No matter what, we’ll love and cherish this new addition to our family.

We’re planning a home water birth. We really enjoyed our experience with our fourth child, Abigail, who was born at home in our kitchen. It was a long, hard labor – but to be the first to hold her, dress her… it was amazing. I look forward to the same beautiful experience with this next little one.
